サマー島に来てもう3週間

Samar Island Natural Park での生活も三週間経ちました。I'm getting used to the life in Philippines. 毎日出る食事にも慣れてきたしどうにかなりそうです。まあ、たまにはうまいものを食べたいのですが。ネットをするのにも一時間かけて近くの町まで行きます。国立公園の管理事務所の官舎に居るのですが、ココは熱帯雨林の真っ只中、でも山の中なので夜は結構涼しくて凌ぎ易い。先週の週末川下りに行ってきました。Volunteers from this area went to the Topido Ride going down Ulot river with a narrow wooden boat.  This is a craziest ride I ever on my life. The boat is extremely unstable.  It will never allowed in Canada. I post some pictures.

さすがに熱帯

昆虫の種類が多いのに驚きます。蝶に目が行ってしまうけど蛍もいるしなるべく写真を撮ろうと思います、飛んでる蝶は無理ですが。若い連中と週末裏山に登ってみました。暑くて汗だくだくなのに、現地の人間は平気な顔をしています。

I'm in town today and a Net access.
I waited 2 hours to get on a bus then find out my meeting was cancelled.  So, I get off and went to the nearest town of Catbalogan for internet access at a cafe.  Life here is very slow, otherwise you don't wait for a bus for two hours.  I wonder how I can get my job done. 

Philippino time

I attended an executive committee meeting today.  It started 3 hours late.  No one showed up in the scheduled meeting time.  It is the philippino time that I have to used to.

フィリピンでの生活にも慣れてきました。公園事務所の官舎のシャワーはバケツに水を貯めてひしゃくで体に掛けます。慣れると大した問題にはなりません。トイレもバケツの水で流します。皆で官舎に住んで食事も一緒で、昔のキャンプ場の管理人の生活の様で懐かしいです。フィリピンの食事にも少しずつ慣れてきましたが、あまり食欲が湧かないので太る心配はなさそうです。

田舎の村の生活は貧しく、50年前の日本よりひどい生活をしています。マニラでさえメインストリートの裏側は昭和35年ごろという感じです。

マニラも今日で最後です。

五日間のトレーニングも終わり、明日マニラを発ちます。今日移民局で指紋を取れれてきました。これで正式なボランティアになったようです。しかし、マニラの交通事情はバンコックよりひどいかも。移民局まで６ｋｍくらいなのに、タクシーで一時間半くらい掛った。時間の無駄の多い国なのです。
明日からは赴任するサマー島に行きます。ネットに繋がれば写真を取って載せます。

I got an internet access

I finished the second day of the in-country training in Manila. 
I got a new bank account here and received the first living allowance.

Here in Manila, I'm gatting used to the hot and steaming weather, but I can't take crazy traffic, smogg and noise.  I can't wait to move to Paranas for fresh air.
