Photos of Paranas

Paranas is about 80 km north of Tacloban where the typhoon hit hard. The town is getting back to normal again. Internet is still not connected but power, water and food supplies are good including beer.
This is the house I live. It's very comfortable.

Inside of the house. Nice breeze in a hot day.

This is the Municipal Office building where I have my working space in the blue building. I also teach Aikido in the upstairs twice a week. It is a beautiful town with nice people. Old church looks bette inside.

Beautiful sun set. The sun is setting over the islands about 15km away.  It is only three blocks away from my house, but I only be there twice since I moved here.

Market is open everyday. This is the store I buy eggs and vegies.
Fish market is also open everyday, but there is ten times more fishes on Thursday.
Children playing on a street. This was a sean in Japan 50 years ago.  Bring me back to my childhood.

Streets are clean in Paranas. Much cleaner then other towns around.
Half of town is built on swamp.  Most of them are fisherman.

Typical store in Philippines.  One in every block.
Children walk around the better neighbourhood to sell fishes, shrimps and potatos.
Jeepny is the most common transportation between towns. Maximum of 40 people can ride on one vehicle.  Transportation is very reasonable in Philippines.
